Feena Moffatt ran a half marathon for a local heart screening charity.
Feena, from our Isle of Man office, took part in her second-ever half marathon to raise money for Craig's Heartstrong Foundation (CHF), an Isle of Man-based charity which funds potentially life-saving heart screenings for men and women on the Island.
The charity was set up in 2005 in memory of Craig Lunt, who passed away at the age of 25 due to an undiagnosed heart defect. Teaming up with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), the charity helps bring over the necessary equipment and staff to hold heart screening events for people on the Island between the ages of 14 and 35.
Speaking about her connection with the charity, Feena said:
"This cause hits particularly close to home for me. I've seen the effects of heart-related issues within my own circle of friends and family. Knowing that such tragedies can be prevented with timely screenings and interventions, I am motivated to do my part in raising awareness and funds for CHF.
CHF is on a mission to make a significant impact on the lives of young individuals in the Isle of Man. SDS is a silent threat, often striking without warning, and it's a condition that can be managed and treated if detected early. By providing heart screenings for those at risk, CHF is working to ensure that no one has to face the devastating consequences of undetected heart conditions.”
We’re immensely proud of Feena’s achievements and grateful to have been part of her fundraising journey.
