Job Description

About The Role.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Director to lead our Bahamas office. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, managing client relationships, fostering team development, driving business growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with the global leadership team to support Suntera Global’s expansion by cultivating strong relationships with a wide range of intermediaries, attending key industry events, and formulating a strategic approach to drive sustainable revenue growth. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success of our business in the Bahamas.

Your duties will include:

  • Liaison with the local community to identify M&A opportunities and/or supporting target due diligence exercises within the Caribbean region
  • Develop and implement comprehensive annual business plan strategies, and monitor progress against this plan, to improve cost efficiency, and grow existing and new potential service offerings
  • Prepare board reports and attend and present at board meetings 
  • Provide leadership and management of day-to-day operations
  • Ensure premises and operations meet business needs
  • Liaison with the jurisdiction’s regulators and supervisory bodies providing support and guidance to the compliance functions. Involvement in key relationships in support of client managers on operational client matters where required
  • Manage local efficiencies and utilisation; ensuring resource is available to support the achievement of budgeted divisional revenues
  • Escalation of problems and issues as they arise to CEO/Group where appropriate
  • Create and continuously manage the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, revenue flows are maximized, and that costs are managed effectively
  • Foster team culture and practice of mentorship and collaboration; engage in development conversations, providing regular feedback on team members strengths and areas for development
  • Responsibility for Appraisals and Salary/Bonus decisions together with Divisional Heads (where relevant)
  • Lead and secure positive culture and work life balance across the team
  • Lead and inspire the jurisdiction’s\ commitment to and delivery of the Group’s global ESG initiatives

About you.

Skills and Requirements: 

  • STEP Qualification (Or Equivalent) with a strong and demonstrable understanding of trust and corporate administration 
  • Proven experience as Managing Director or other senior management level position with a top tier trust services business, private wealth group or other financial services firm
  • 10 plus years of experience in a trust or company administration/financial services environment
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record in the provision of a broad range of professional services
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience at a senior management level would be an advantage as would a high level of exposure to UHNWI and Family Offices
  • Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, NavOne and other Trust specific applications
  • Above average fluency with spoken and written English at a professional level
