With a new year comes renewed regulatory focus, and the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Examinations has released its 2025 Examination Priorities—shedding light on key areas of scrutiny for registered investment advisers (RIAs) and private fund managers. While the focus on fiduciary responsibilities, fee transparency, and cybersecurity remains, the political shift following the election of President Donald Trump is expected to bring notable changes in regulatory priorities.
